Weapon Systems Analysis

Quantum has played a leading role in the systems survivability arena since 1988. Our first work in this area was providing Theater Missile Defense (TMD) survivability assessments in support of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC). Subsequently, we have supported, via prime contracts starting in 1992, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate (ARL/SLAD). We provided ARL/SLAD operational perspectives of technology alternatives to reduce vulnerability and enhance lethality of U.S. weapon systems. We also provided technical and engineering support in the areas of computer model development, threat analysis, and system survivability analysis. Quantum's expertise in Defense Systems MS&A supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), PEO Missiles and Space, the AMRDEC Software Engineering Directorate and other Armed Services, as well as commercial customers.

Quantum employs the technical, operational and combat experience of its staff and its close association with Army combat developers and materiel developers to help ARL/SLAD enhance the visibility and stress the importance of survivability and lethality issues to soldiers, conduct ballistic vulnerability analysis, and assist in the development of three dimensional modeling techniques.

Quantum personnel actively support Government planning meetings and reviews for SLV studies / events. As SLV subject-matter experts, our personnel are often asked to participate in studies sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences and the Army Science Board.
